93 years ago, on Saturday 6 May 1922, the Governor of the Union of South Africa, His Royal Highness Prince Arthur of Connaught, opened Chapman’s Peak Drive to traffic (Then called the Hout Bay – NoordeHoek Road) .
Today #Chappies is a toll road linking the north and south of Cape Town. At the time of writing, Light Motor Vehicles are paying R40 per direction, so regular users could be paying a lot of cash for driving this beautiful route to get to or from work or friends!
Chapman’s Peak Drive is operated by Entilini Operations whose office is at the Toll Plaza on the Chapman’s Peak Drive. To assist locals, there is a frequent user programme in place, whereby registered individual users can get a progressive discount. The more you drive per month, the more you save.

The process is simple. Simply download a Frequent User Form or Collect one at the Toll Plaza. Complete your details, and the Chappies staff will register you in the system. There are 2 payment options, but you can use your new #HappyChappie status as you walk out of the office!
#HappyChappies don’t need to carry cash, they save on each journey (paying as little as R7.50 per trip!), they get monthly statements of their road usage, SMS notifications if #Chappies is closed and the best views in town every day!
