The much loved Cape Town Cycle Tour takes place on Sunday 12 March 2017. The tour is a much loved Cape Town event, and is the largest individually timed cycle race! Some 35 000 cyclists will take on the traditional 109 km route from the city centre, down the M3 through to Muizenberg and as far south as Smitswinkel. From there they will then head north again, over Chapman's Peak Drive and through Hout Bay and Camps Bay to the finish line in Green Point. Chappies is one of the highlights of the race.
We do need to warn our regular customers and our visitors that due to the race logistics Chapman's Peak Drive will be temporarily closed for 24 hours for race logistics and the event.

Please note that over the long Easter Weekend, another major sporting event will take place on #Chappies - the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon (Saturday 15 April 2017). The Two Oceans marathon has been called “The world’s most beautiful marathon”, partly due to its’ routing over #Chappies. The race also returns to it’s original route and Chapman’s Peak Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic for this iconic Cape Town event. Chappies will also have a temporary road closure from 03h30 and should reopen at 14h00 on 15 April 2017.
